According to the legend, Ancus Marcius king of Rome, founded Ostia in 620 BC as a crucial spot to make use of the salt pans at the mouth of the Tiber.
The oldest archaeological remains however, date back much later, to the second half of the 4th century BC, and belong to an armed camp (Lat. castrum) built in tufa blocks: it was built by roman settlers to protect the river’s mouth and the Lazio coast.
The European Commission awarded the European Heritage Label to Archaeological Area of Ostia antica
With Rome’s expansion it came to control all Mediterranean trade routes (2nd century BC), and Ostia lost its military role in order to become Rome’s major port and trading center (Lat. emporium).
In our tour we will discover this amazing site, out of usual Roman touristic tracks, and we will have also an archaelogical “dig” experience. 2h of simulated excavation led by professional archaelogists.

The National Roman Museum has as its mission the acquisition, conservation enhancement and use of a unique cultural heritage in the world.
This exceptional testimony of the past is promoted and developed by the National Roman Museum, projecting the sense of historical continuity into the future.
In this tour we will visit 3 major sites of the Roman history: the bath of Diocletian, Palazzo Massimo and Palazzo Altemps.
The bath of Diocletian and the Charterhouse of Santa Maria degli Angeli are a unique monumental complex because of their size and exceptional state of preservation.
Inspired by the magnificent palaces of the 16th century, Palazzo Massimo contains some of the greatest masterpieces of the entire artistic output of the Roman world: sculptures, reliefs, frescos, mosaics, stuccoes and sarcophagi, originating.
The Palazzo Altemps is home to absolute masterpieces of ancient sculpture from famous and highly prestigious noble collections now owned by the Italian Government.

This year the international conference will cover three full days from October 10th to 12th. Claris FileMaker, Claris Connect, Claris Studio will be as usual the main subjects. There will be a lot of sessions dedicated to business, marketing and technical topics, conducted from speakers from all over the world.
The conference will be completely in English with Italian simultaneous translation. Every session will be streamed and recorded. Recordings will be available 30 days after for all the attendees, live or online. This is a great chance to connect with more than 100 developers from other countries, discover last Claris and low code trends, and network with peers that completely understand your FileMaker daily work and passion.
Create from FMGuru and Direct Impact Solutions teams for FileMaker professionals and users, this conference will offer contents for every user at every level. Don’t worry about not be skilled enough and, at the same time, don’t worry about being bored. We use selected tracks to create a flow, so you don’t have to worry about attending a lot of boring sessions without any direction, or sit through a lot of speakers’ personal self-promotion.
The main subject for the conference this year will be “Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost FileMaker database“.
In Rome, the city that hosts the conference, the past is always there and helps the future to be stronger and safer. In fact we need to be ready for the future, because future is now!
Included in the conference is all the food from the welcome reception until the last coffee break. Enjoy the pizza buffet after the FileMaker Game and the fancy Swing friday night (don’t forgot to pack your 30s dress to be on-theme). For the first year, there will be no boring and long dinner, but a lot of time to enjoy Rome by night with your pals. Don’t worry, you will have all the chances to live your Roman food experience!
This year the international conference will be held in the magnificent Palazzo Falletti Guardavalle, a fancy noble palace located in Rione Monti, very central neighboorhood in the historic heart of Rome. Palazzo Falletti location is very strategic: it is a few steps from the Stazione Termini, Cavour and Colosseum metro stations, in the shadow of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Feel free to choose your own hotel or b&b (you can find some suggestion above the footer); you will have plenty time to network with other guests enjoying drinks and after hours near the conference location.
